Ukulele Straps for all your ukes!

How We Got Started

Hi, I'm Lori Apthorp and thanks for visiting my website. As a lapsed classical guitar player, and one who has played a little banjo, I discovered the ukulele in February 2009, and have been uke crazy ever since. When looking for a strap, I couldn't find one that would give me support for the neck, but not require a strap button or hook system. Not wanting to have my beautiful new uke drilled, I decided to come up with my own solution. I have a background in Product Design (Art Center College of Design grad, shoe designer for K-Swiss and L.A. Gear), so it is natural for me to try and solve design problems.

The Uke Leash® is my own invention. I am having a lot of fun with it. Music is a wonderful thing, and playing music is very enriching. So, if this simple device can help people who want to play, and don't have access to a professional strap installation (or wish to keep their instruments unaltered), I will feel it was worth all the work and expense. Customer feedback is very important to me, so thanks for all those suggestions, and keep them coming.

I currently make all the straps myself, and ship internationally. Since I got a laser engraver, I have expanded my products to additional items, like Uke Leash Guitar Style Straps, ukulele themed jewelry, and Circle of Fifths Guides. I make them in my new workshop in Los Angeles California.
